Check it out, Cudi’s music video for ‘Mr. Rager’ is finally here. It’s very theatrical. The message in the video isn’t all too clear until the very end, and even then it’s still not known, however it’s worth the watch. They really did use a lot of the Surface to Air jacket’s in there.
Just when we thought for sure that we would soon feast our ears on this collection of tracks made known to us as A Man Named Scott, we get word straight from the man himself, that the project will not come to fruition. R.I.P Scott, we never knew you, but we loved you nonetheless. For those of you not looking forward to the WIZARD album, as he refers to it below, there is still good news. It didn’t come as a result of the scrapping of the mixtape, but it’s still good news.
A Man Named Scott is scrapped everyone, I know its a bummer but ive just been too busy with this new album and thats where all my energy and focus is right now. I gotta work on what moves me creatively. After this im going straight to work on MOTM3 so dont trip. You’ll definately have the WIZARD album this year so no worries. Trust im working extra hard to make this shit as amazing as possible and get yall some new jams. Again, sorry for the late notice. I know youll understand, I hope you understand ha

So I guess those of you that were looking forward to the mixtape will just have to wait till MOTM3 while the rest of us enjoy, or at least hope we will enjoy the upcoming album.

Last night I lay wide awake for hours, like I have for about a week now, unable to sleep for some reason; anyways, in my search for some relief, I came across this book. No it did not help, but I got a real laugh out of it when I listened to the audio book. This “children’s book” is probably meant to be a satirical read and certainly not for children, but I guess that’s for the parents to decide. You can watch a short clip of Samuel L. Jackson narrating the book over at the AV Club, or listen to the full audio clip on YouTube.

More Gambino coming your way. This time in the form of a remix from Zachary Zamarripa, who happens to produce some very nice House/Electro originals and remixes, which you can find on his Soundcloud if you’re into that sort of thing. This remix definitely adds a considerable amount of replay value to Gambino’s ‘Got This Money’, more specifically this remix, however unless you’re just now discovering his music, that’s probably not the case. His new album, Camp, is set to drop some time in September so be on the lookout for that.
Childish Gambino – Got This Money (Zachary Zamarripa Remix) by Zachary Zamarripa
Someone got the bright idea of mashing up Childish Gambino’s ‘Freaks and Geeks’ with NBC’s Community, and they did it surprisingly well, a lot of credit to the show for having some perfect clips to go with the lyrics, but finding them must have been somewhat of a hassle so hats off to the mashup artist as well.
In other news, Donald Glover’s first one-hour stand-up special will air on Comedy Central, November 20th.
I admit, I’ve been every bit reluctant to pay attention to Watch The Throne ever since it was announced back in August. After getting my first whiff of it when ‘HAM’ leaked, I instinctively embodied my thoughts on the song all around the project and wrote it off, ‘HAM’ wasn’t all that good in my opinion. Today was just headline after headline reading “Kanye West, Jay-Z – Otis”, and god knows they’ve been advertising it all over the place. So I decided to watch out of curiosity and ended up taking a liking to the song and the video as well, really captured some fun genuine looking moments.
Finally some new material to quench your hunger. Apparently, word that this track was in the making has been out for quite a while. Clueless about that, I was pleasantly surprised when I came upon it during my regular rampage. The track, titled ‘No One Believes Me’, was produced by none other than Dot Da Genius and is said to be featured on the soundtrack for the upcoming film Fright Night.

Fuck those people that said Cudi wouldn’t be as great as an artist when he stopped smoking marijuanna. This video proves them wrong that he can write great music under the influence or not. I love you Scott Mescudi, you are my hero.
The music video for the song has already been shot as you can see above, and was directed by Craig Gillespie. The song certainly doesn’t resemble the same sound found in his early music, it’s somewhat dark and eerie, however for those who don’t mind his shifting musical styles to the Rock side of things, this will definitely be a treat. Those of you who do mind, A Man Named Scott is a’coming.
Childish Gambino fan’s, country lovers or not, are gonna love this rendition of ‘Freaks and Geeks’. It needs a bit more polishing, and it would definitely sound great if it were a studio quality recording, but it will have to do for the moment.
Sunday afternoon, a friend of mine and i were working on the guitar part for our rock rendition of Childish Gambino’s “Freaks and Geeks”. We were having a bit of trouble getting the picking down since it’s a little difficult to play the melody of the song and rap at the same time, so i suggested he just play the chords. When he did, some kind of country magic came out and we just ran with it. After a few times through, we decided to record this little gem. It’s a little rough since we only rehearsed it twice all the way through, and we recorded it on an iphone (which, surprisingly, has fairly decent quality) but here it is, our country version of “Freaks and Geeks”.

Theophilus London. Some of you might have seen his name high on the charts of the Hype Machine a while back, fueled by the popularity of the track ‘I Stand Alone’. An upbeat soulful sound combined with an underlying old western country vibe. The song is definitely one of the reasons why he has attracted so many fans with his latest album Timez are Weird These Days, which dropped back in July on the 19th. However we’ve just returned and I couldn’t pass up the chance to share this with you guys. Past mixtape’s like Theo’s This Charming Mixtape prove that he’s not just another addition to the dime a dozen collection of rapper’s on the radar. Timez are Weird These Days features standout’s like the aforementioned ‘I Stand Alone’, ‘Last Name London’, and ‘Wine and Chocolates”, all of which are available for a quick listen below. Tour dates for the United States, Canada, Australia and South Africa are in place, so look out for your city or neighboring location if you’re itching to see him live. Don’t forget to peep the links below, after you catch his music video to ‘Last Name London’.

Hoodie’s back with a brand new mixtape titled Leap Year. Things have come a ways since Pep rally, which wasn’t bad, however Leap Year is really a leap forward, pun intended. I’ve seen some blogs respond negatively to his latest release, nonetheless, it seems things have been going well for Hoodie, and there’s no lack of reason’s for that.
